Wild Manitoba Rodeo Event Photography
Hang on to your cowboy hats as you get ready to witness some action packed images from this Wild Manitoba Rodeo Event Photography set. This was shot in the town of Richer, about 30 minutes east of Winnipeg.
Had the pleasure of popping into the Annual Richer Rough Stock Rodeo on Aug.6th this year. Gorgeous warm summer day - perfect for this event.
Many different event were held, including riding the bucking bronco.
One minute you are "Up" and the next - you are dusting yourself off from the "fall".
The stands were packed, but I was lucky enough to find a front row spot right in the dry mud next to the fencing.
The action all began at the far side of the corral and came towards me -which was perfect for capturing the excitement.
The key to Action Photography is getting your settings correct "in camera".
I played with various combinations, but had to maintain a fast shutter speed to freeze the action.
Sometimes the action was very fast, and other times it was at a "sheep's pace".
This was definitely a Wild Manitoba Rodeo Event Photography session. Always amazed at the skill and courage of these rodeo riders.
I'm sure many were taking some aspirin the next morning, while I was editing my images.
There was even some rodeo events for the children, which included some Sheep Riding.
Not the easiest thing to do, as you can see by the images above.
With such fast paced action, I had set my camera to shoot "rapid fire" to hopefully capture a spectacular moment.
I have been to stampedes before, but never so close to the action.
A zoom lens and a steady hand, allowed me to capture these action images of the "Steer Wrestling".
I photograph all sorts of Events for clients. Most are regular "people events" where there is some sort of celebration and the movement is slow to nonexistent.
This was definitely a fun challenge to capture the feel and action of this rodeo.
That concludes this Wild Manitoba Rodeo Event Photography posting.
Was thrilled how the images turned out and that I was able to capture the look and feel of this amazing event.
